826DC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6-18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. 

Having to Tell Your Mother is the Hardest Part is a brilliant collection of short essays by young DC authors - writing themselves into the world. I worked with 826DC and each young author and created these portraits to accompany their essays.
